Omochitsuki お餅つき大会

Members:

How are you?  Our Kenjinkai will have Omochitsuki this year again!  If you are wondering what this is, please see HERE (I didn't realize how much Sora-kun grew since last December!!!)  Mochi is rice cake in Japan.  We will make it, eat it and have a good time together.

Date and Time :  December 26 (Sat) at 1:00pm to 3:00pm   PREPARATION

December 27 (Sun) at 10:30 am to 3:00pm  OMOCHITSUKI

Place:  JCCCW (Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington)

            1414 S. Weller St. Seattle, WA 98144       (206) 568-7114

Fee:  Free

What to bring:  26th - nothing

27th - apron or change of clothes for small kids, lunch and drink, towels, ziplock bags if

you want to bring some mochi home, and don't forget a camera!

Omochitsuki needs a preparation a day before; we must wash the mochi rice and soak it over night.  We need to cover the floor also.  We need some VOLUNTEERS to help the preparation on 26th.  On 27th, we will start off with steaming the rice and then make the rice cake.

It is a great opportunity to show your kids our new year's tradition in Japan.  If you have some friends, they are welcome, too.  Let's all get together and HAVE FUN!

For members, we would like to know about how many people are coming to the event.  I will send out the Evite out for the volunteer on the 26th and actual event on the 27th.  Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming, if so, how many ASAP.
